soccer make me as happy as watching young American talent go to Europe. Maurice Edu, who just finished playing for the US in the Olympics, has been signed by Rangers FC in Scotland.
Edu played collegiate soccer with the University of Maryland and was drafted by Toronto FC. Maurice signed a 5-year deal worth $4.8 million pending the ever annoying UK work permit.
America needs more players with international experience (European preferably) to compete with the soccer powers. The MLS has brought the level of soccer up in the US but only international experience will allow America to compete on a continuous basis.
