USA v GUATEMALA – CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier
1. FIFA will approve anything. Is this field moonlit? WTF?
2. Brian Ching plays MLS soccer. When is he going to do something?
3. Dreadlocks guy is out there to dive. The dreadlocks accentuate the rolling from side-to-side.
4. USA has a lot of work to do before our defenders can play on an international level. How many throughballs are going to dice up our wingbacks?
5. Onyewu is the WRONG guy to play against Central American opponents (i.e. those whose primary strategy is to win by the illusion of getting fouled). His method is too risky. I’m predicting a PK against the USA in half #2.
6. We’re playing methodically against a team accustomed to playing against very intense attacks. It keeps us safe on defensive positioning but we don’t have much chance of penetrating a defensive cloud with slow, deliberate play.
