unrefined soccer commentary from two americans who know everything

US TO BID ON 2018, 2022 WC’s

World Cup 2018, World Cup 2022

The United States has decided to throw their hat in for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. The United States hosted its first World Cup in 1994 which saw Brazil beat Italy in California.

There are quite a few other counties in the running including; Australia, England, Indonesia, Japan, Qatar, Mexico, Russia, South Korea, and the United States. Belgium and the Netherlands register to bid together, as have Portugal and Spain.

Since FIFA ended its rotation policy, the World Cup can move to any continent instead of a predetermined order . The only restriction is the World Cup can not be played on the same continent in 2 consecutive terms.

Lets hope the United States get one of the two years and Columbus gets to host a few games.
