Due to a total lack of awareness, respect, compassion, sympathy, and indeed humanity on the part of an acquaintance, I will miss most or all of the live coverage of the MLS Cup today due to my commitment to fulfill usher duties at her wedding. If only it was Super Bowl Sunday and I liked American football!

Thanks to my dad, I will be receiving text message updates for key events in the match. Almost like real life!

Kevin Garnett, I know you are VERY tall, but you better bend over, because you DROPPED SOME NAMES.

Ronaldinho, Drogba, Ronaldo, Messi, Lampard, Del Piero… the big names kept coming in an interview with Frank Dell’Apa of the Boston Globe.

Apparently Garnett rubbed shoulders with Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Adebayor when the Celts played in London. Or Cesc and Emmanuel rubbed their shoulders on Garnett’s, what, I dunno, wrist? Elbow?

It’s good to know that Garnett is such a big fan, has a pitch set up in his backyard, and even enjoys *watching* the beautiful game. (Snore.) Although, he professes to be a Chelsea supporter, so it’s pretty clear he’s a Johnny-come-lately. Just kidding, KG!

Singapore has created a floating soccer pitch. ‘Marina Bay Floating Stadium’ was built over a 13 month period and required 15 pontoons to keep afloat. The floating pitch is only going to be “afloat” until 2012 when the national stadium is finished.

So who is going to get the ball when you miss the goal?
